Golf Digest for me. I never pay attention to the tips and I take the equipment reviews with a grain of salt. Aside from that, the rest of the magazine is pretty entertaining. The November 2010 issue, which I have in front of me now, has a very good article about the last days of Earl Woods.

They are pretty similar overall. I mostly read them both for the tips (aren't we all just one solid tip away from being scratch?) and it's true after a while they recycle. GD tips are from PGA/LPGA pros, GOLF tips from "top 100" teachers. Teachers always seem to have bizarre tips as they try to outdo each other.

I have subscribed to both at some time, but neither now. After 18 months, the golf mags start to repeat themselves. I buy the GD January edition for the annual equipment reviews.

I scan them sometimes in the doctor's office or at the gym, but the stuff isn't exciting enough for me to subscribe. I actually find greenskeeping magazines more interesting.

The last two pros I've worked with were highly similar in their teaching approaches, so I'd rather stick with their stuff than mess with stray "game improvement" bits.

Focus, connect and follow through!
