This could possibly be a stupid question but i'm very curious to know this.

What is the lowest your handicapp can go to?

The reason i ask this is because after speaking to a friend who is part of a private club he was telling that he was playing with someone who was a very very good player, He said that he is that good that he has to give the course shots?

I basically thought that you got to scratch and that was it??

There are no stupid questions. Once you reach Scratch (or zero) you can actually go the other way and have a + handicap (I think Tiger is a +8).

Only if you hope to make a living at tournament golf.

To be a class A pga pro you have to pass a playing test. I am not sure of the details but 3 over par or something qualifies. Id would bet there is a website that tells you.

Technically, to be a professional, all you have to do is say "I'm a professional," enter a tournament that makes you a professional, etc. Some teachers can't play worth shit but they're PGA pros.

But that's probably not really what you're asking... The PAT only requires, yeah, about +15 for 36 holes. I could pass it on two fairly bad days and I'm a 4 index or so.
