Im looking for a nice 3wd for my christmas and i was wondering if you would recommend paying the extra for the R9 TP the cost is NOT an issue and even though i am a High handicapper i am about to get lessons from the top coach in the area so my swing will be better by the new season. Is the regular shaft stiffer in the TP than the regular in the non TP. I would be looking for something that will last me a while so a wet noodle might be too flexible soon.

Thanks

I would demo both of them, a more expensive shaft isn't always a better fit. I got the best results from the diamana blue board 'for titleist' shaft when I had my driver fitting. I also went to demo a few 3 woods recently and the fitter said my current r9 3 wood with the stock motore shaft was a better fit than other combinations I tried.

yeh cos i tried the R9 earlier in the season and i thought the best fit was 13º Stiff for and for a player that swinger the driver at just over 90 MPH that is wrong

I'm not sure what your saying here. Are you saying you have a driver SS of just over 90mph? If that's correct then you should definitely not get a 13° fairway wood. You'd be much better off with a higher lofted wood and you won't be compromising any distance by doing so.

Head properties as in the R9 vs R9 TP?

i wouldnt suggest a 13 degree 3w either
ok from the tee as a backup driver, not very easy to hit from the turf

the only TP about the TP line is the shaft and TIP..the heads are the same
a tip can be had on ebay for $20 and you can put any shaft you want in a TP head/tip . size .335"

get fit for a shaft first, then decide
