Golf Courses and Facility near Manhattan

Are there any courses and ranges near Manhattan? (accessible by public transportation)

I am moving to NYC next year. I want to continue golfing but I don't think I will have a car. I found some in NJ on Google, but not sure if PATH will take me there.

On the West side there is a driving range at Chelsea piers. On the East side there is one at Randalls Island (Near the Triboro Bridge). There are no cousres in Manhattan. Van Cortland Park in the Bronx is close by public trans. Here is a link to public golf in the NY metro area:

There's a shuttle that runs to Randall's Island from 3rd Ave. If you have a bike, you can ride to RI and get there faster than any other mode of transport. I've seen golfers riding there with a golf bag on their back. Only in big cities do you see this.

If you can get some friends together, zipcar and mint are very convenient and decently priced car sharing options. Better than Hertz IMHO.
