I made a double eagle a few weeks ago (hurray!) and I was just doing a little reflecting on some of my golf milestones over the years. Now with the albatross in the books, all the big ones are covered (luckily I was able to start young). So, I wanted to compile all the milestones/achievements that I can remember, which is something I have never done before. I am including a bunch of random/fun ones in there to keep it interesting. I encourage everyone to do the same. Here it goes:

Firsts
Breaking 80 from mens tees : 1999 (12 years old)
First eagle : 2 on a par 4, 105 yards, 9-iron (1999)
First junior tournament win : 1999
Breaking 70 : 68 (also lowest round) (2004)
First ace : 170 yards, 7-iron (2007)
First club championship : 2009
First double eagle : 2 on a 454 yard par 5 - driver/8-iron (2010 - 3 weeks ago)

Cool stuff
Longest par streak : 15 holes
Longest birdie streak : 5 holes
Consecutive rounds with an eagle : 3 (this happened this summer and it is my favorite...all 3 eagles on same course, same hole, with same witness - my dad; 495 yard par 5)
Consecutive rounds below 80 : 18
Most eagles in one round : 2
Most GIR in one round : 16
Lowest putts : 24
Lowest scramble score (team of 4 ): 54 (17-under)
Lowest college golf scoring average : 76.4 (2005-2006 season)
Best college tournament result : 2nd place (71-71 - 142; 2-under)

Wall of shame
Most untimely bogey : First playoff hole (37th hole) of club championship finals circa 2002
First 5-putt in a tournament : Senior year - 2008
Consecutive shots OB : 3

Perhaps this would have been better suited for a blog post. Still, I am curious about cool milestones/achievements from other TST posters.

It's really cool that you have all this stuff. I'm gonna take a trip upstairs and take a look at my scorecard box and see what I can come up with...

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Home Course:

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

agreed - it is really cool you have all that stuff logged. just about every really significant accomplishment i've made on the course came this past season, so i can tick off a fair number of things right off the top of my head:

first round to shoot even par (on par 72 course)
first round to shoot under par (69 on par 70 course)
longest par streak in a round: 12 in a row
longest birdie streak in a round: 3 in a row
eagles this season: 4 (2 holed out from fairway, 2 putting for eagle on par 5 holes)
longest drive: 330 yards (drove the green from the tee, so assuming the scorecard yardage is accurate...)
longest putt: approximately 40 feet

I wish I could remember a lot of those things. I really can't remember the first time I broke 80.

Milestones I can remember:

First eagle: #13 Oldham Co. CC made about a 30 foot putt.
First eagle on a par 4: #5 Eagle Creek CC. Holed from about 70 yds.
Shot 73 at Eagle Creek in 1996.
Chipped in from 40 yards on #1 at Heathrow for birdie.
Longest putt: #9 Oldham County CC about 100 feet.
Shot 92 at Valhalla GC, but had to skip a hole or 2 on caddy Monday, hehe

Not really much there.

Nice. I didn't realize it, but I guess it is cool to be able to compile a pretty length list like this. I actually wish I could remember more. For me, some were easy since I kept a scrapbook from my days in junior competition. But, most of them were just floating around in the noggin. My brother and I would always push each other competitively growing up and he kept even better stats than I did.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
