- Pre-set impact by pushing your hips forward and leaving your head in place. This will add secondary axis tilt (the tilt in the right side of your spine/side).
- Swing back, then through (a short swing, a long chip is fine)
- Through impact resist any twisting and try to stop the club as quickly as possible. The sensation is to "hit fast, stop fast."

Interesting - I'll try that > I wish I had access to super slo-mo.

PS. Where the H is that range - that looks like a pretty nice place to work on stuff without gawkers.

If you have $220, you do (and that includes the memory card). Or buy my camera from me in the Marketplace.

Back range of Whispering Woods. The teaching end of the range.

What is the point of trying to stop the follow through short and fast?

Best 9 holes: 35 (Trilogy at Redmond Ridge, 3163y, Par 35/70, 70.0/131)
Best 18: [b]77[b] (Palm Valley CC, 6545y, 71.4/126)
Notable career achievement: I have NEVER four-putt.

Your body will generate more speed. Throw a punch with no stopping point - just let your arm kind of slow down on its own. Now throw a punch where you almost start to recoil to "brake" the punch. The second is much faster.

Plus, this teaches you to use your back and larger muscles and not your wrists to stop the club. It's two-fold.

    • @DeadManI used to use the Swing Speed radar and, in hindsight, it seems very unreliable.  As @iacassaid, it's prone to misplacement, and I'd sometimes get wildly different speeds from swing-to-swing: like a 103mph, followed by 118mph, then a 102mph, then a 114mph.  I didn't know any better at the time and thought that was normal.  I've since upgraded radars and the new speeds seem much more accurate/consistent. Also, Mike Carroll (FFG) used to have the SSR and he now calls it a 'random number generator'.
    • I have it. Works good. As all things electronics, there are analog elements that can 'weaken' like the microwave signal emitting/receiving or the contact between it and conversion module, etc. Might be time for a new one.     P.S. I've had it for a few years. Other than replacing the battery haven't had any periods of wild reads.
