I am planning to pick one of these up because I want this bag for a while and don't like having a Nike or Titleist bag with all sorts of clubs, its just the way I am I guess.

Anyways, how is the durability of it and is the stand and legs pretty well made? It looks like a really good bag, and I love that its a 14-way..

I briefly considered this bag but in the end it wasn't for me... just didn't like the way it looked... I think the older Groms with the Woode top was better.  I ended up getting a Titleist 14-way stand bag which I love... I know that you don't want a Titleist bag so I would suggest the Sun Mountain Four 5... essentially the same as the Titleist with a different strap system.

What do you mean the look? How is the top of the divider?

Yeah... I didn't like the look too much... if you do then great go with it...  The divider on the new one is a 14-way that is kind of in a diamond pattern and I didn't like it... the old one was the Woode top that has 4 slots for Woods/hybrids, a putter slot, and 3 slots for irons/wedges (at least that's how I used it).  On top of that, my last bag was an Ogio (Vaporlite) and while overall I really liked it the material on the divider wore out very quickly,  and although it isn't the same material on the divider as the Grom, it did make me question their workmanship a little.

I have the grom with the 4 driver/wood/hybrid slots, a putter slot, and 3 slots for irons and wedges.  I love the look of the thing and the compartments and holders are awesome.  I personally love the ball holder how it basically snaps shut it doesn't zip or magnet.

Is the 2011 a 14 way divider?  Do you have a pic of what the divider looks like?

I have the Grom and I love it, but its the older model with the woode top.  Its a great bag with a lot of pockets and room for everything without looking ridiculous.  The only think is that for a stand bag it is kind of HEAVY!!! Being heavy doesn't bother me all that much because I use a golf cart mostly or a push cart, I usually will only walk 9 holes, but if you walk 18 you will start to feel it towards the end.

Used strictly as a carry bag the Grom is a bit on the heavy side.  Ogio considers it a "hybrid" bag in that it works well as a carry bag and for use when strapped to a cart.  In that regard it does exactly as billed and I highly recommend it.  If I were going to always be carrying my bag I would pick another style or brand that is a little lighter and that has bigger more comfortable straps.

I'm on my 2nd Grom/hybrid of the year and may send this one back. The divider keeps coming loose at the bottom. Also the clubs sit right on top of each other with no room. I really like the "urban camo" pattern tho'. The Vision SS, 2 Voltages I had never had this problem.

I had an older version with the Woode system and like it, but the zippers on two of the pockets blew out after only a season and a half.  Ogio offered me half off a new bag and I got the 2011 version a couple of months ago.  Did not expect the 14 way divider, but I like it.  Also the zipper system is much better as they go straight down instead of at an angle which put stress on the seams.  If you are looking for a light weight carry bag, this is probably not it.  I carried my old one all the time, playing as much as 2-3 times a week in the spring and summer.  I have played 3 rounds with the new one and think it is a great bag.  Don't see any problem with carrying it as much as I did before.

I love mine (2010) with the woode top, but I think I would also like the 14 way divider.

As stated above, it is a bit heavy for carrying often.

I think they are great looking bags. I get compliments on mine.

i actually got my brother-in-law one of these for christmas, the new model.  i have to say, the new layout of the top is a bit awkward.  we were messing around arranging the clubs in different ways but i personally wasnt comfortable.  he on the other hand LOVED it!  he rarely carries so it fits perfectly on his push cart and its really not as heavy as people say (c'mon 6.5 lbs vs 4 lbs, does that really make such a big difference on your back?)

as for everything else, its one of the coolest bags ive seen when i was shopping for it.  the other 14-way bags just "seemed" cheap in the materials they used.  the clubs slide in-n-out without a hitch.  also there are so many little conveniences in this bag i couldnt believe it.  and most importantly....its just a sweet looking bag with no labels or markings anywhere

Could you perhaps take a few pics of your Grom with the 14 way? I'm torn between this and the 2011 Edge. They've offered to replace mine free of charge and this will be my 2nd return of the same bag in a year and would like to get it right 1 time.

I plan to buy the Grom and don't see why the 14 way divider is a big deal?  14 individual slots for my clubs sounds much better than my current Mizuno bag where the clubs get tangeled and difficult to pull out when the grips rub against each other.

I here you, but the pic I saw of it looked kind of cramped and it's the diamond pattern, not the straight like the SQ Tour or Four 5. If the 14 way is the same divider flaps as they are now, just more to get screwed up. Not to mention the colors are very limited and not all that great unlike the past.

Are the dividers are the new Grom full length?  If not its then the clubs will be more tangled up then they are in the 2010 Grom.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
