Golf Communities in Charleston, SC

Looking to retire in charleston soon and was wondering what are the best golf communities? Would like to buy a home on a golf course, especially one that has membership deals for residents. I saw one post about The Villages in FL does charleston have anything like that?

Seabrook or Kiawah if you can afford it. I'm jealous, Charleston is awesome.

I vacation there once in awhile and don't add much to the one response.  But we usually rent a house at Seabrook Island and it is a great place. I certainly would think about buying there if I could afford another vacation home.   Don't have any idea what real estate goes for there but houses range from huge to modest so I assume prices vary according to size and location just like every where else.  Try the web to get a feel for prices.
