I'm trying to come up with a unique and over-the-top trip to give to a client, as a way to say thanks for the business through the years. I'm not an avid golfer, but he is. If money were no issue, what would be your dream golf trip or experience?

Please keep it realistic (no Augusta National answers), because I'm truly trying to come up with a one-of-a-kind gift.

Appreciate it in advance.

Keeping it within the USA the old standby would be a stay and play package at Pebble Beach http://www.pebblebeach.com/golf-vacation-packages-and-getaways .

A little bit more unique would be a stay and play at Shadow Creek, Las Vegas http://www.shadowcreek.com/pages/contact.asp or a Bandon Dunes http://www.bandondunesgolf.com/pages/reservations/92.php or a Cape Kidnappers http://www.gourmetgolftours.com/default.aspx?s=events_display&eventid;=213 golf stay and play package.

More expensive and the ultimate trip in my book would be the 2011 St. Andrews Golf package

I've never been there, but everyone loves Myrtle Beach. Lots of great courses, I'm sure someone has some recommendations.

Pebble or St Andrews is the easy answer. If you do St andrews, taking on some Irish golf would be great.

If you want to go more out of the box, you could buy him a spot in a PGA tour event pro-am. It would cost around $5K-$50K (for a threesome) depending on the tournament and if you go for Monday or Wednesday Pro Am (Mondays are much cheaper, but no big names). You'll end up with three spots  (some may allow you to just sign up as single or twosome but I haven't seen this)

Can you tell us the top end of your budget? Are you going too or just giving this to him?

I've never been but I can't imagine you could beat Bandon, Oregon for a stateside golf vacation. There's also Kohler, WI or upper Michigan along with the obvious Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head in SC.

Being Canadian I'll also plug the rockies along the BC/Alberta border, Kannanaskis, Banff Springs, Jasper Park, Salmon Arm, Predator Ridge etc. etc.

I would take in to consideration the weather at many of the places suggested. You wouldn't want to send him to St. Andrews in the soggy cold season, etc.

My choice would involve the Monterey Peninsula, Cypress, Pebble, Spyglass, etc.

Myrtle Beach is the ultimate golf vacation spot. You can do it fairly cheap also. My dream golf vacation would be playing St. Andrews though.

Myrtle Beach is a great "Quantity" spot.  If I went I would stick to the Pawley's Island area.  Specefically Caledonia Golf and Fish Club - Considered the gem of the Grand Strand and the TPC of MB.

Another Awesome spot is the Renyolds Plantation area.  It is home to some of the top ranked resort courses in the Southeast, I would shoot specefically for Great Water, Cuscowilla and the Ritz Carlton Course...all are in the tops for Georgia, rank up there with Augusta and East lake without the exclusivity.  nice thing is it is a easy car ride from the Atlanta Airport (1hour)

Lastly i would look at the Pinhurst, North Carolina area.  You have the Famous no. 2, but there are 7 others.  Then there is the Pine Needles resort as well.  All are fantastic courses.

Pinehurst is good bang for your buck. You can't go wrong with Pebble either. if the client is as good as you indicate i would stay away from MB. that is a buddies trip not a client outing. I have never been to B dunes but it sure has a big reputation for a new place.

so much depends on the time of year you want do it and the budget you want to spend...good luck.

    • I don't have enough details to know what to tell you, man. If they were walking across, to play devil's advocate, maybe just wait another 10 seconds next time.
    • Day 11: Putts with a metronome and worked on some feels for greenside shots.
    • I realize the frame cuts off my tail but wanted to specifically see my hand path and club shaft and head travel from A5 to A7 with the grip and posture work I have been doing . This might be the shallowest I have managed to get the club head to enter into impact. I like the finish much more as well.
    • Context:  I used to play golf very regularly (and when I'm playing regularly, I'm on TST regularly).  In summer 2022, I got my handicap down to a personal-best 11.9.  Unfortunately, in the three years since then, I've had far less time to play, and didn't really make the time to practice.  I've played a bit more the past few months, and I anticipate having a lot more time to practice starting in about two months, at which point I'm hoping to go back to my old practice habits (practicing daily, Evolvr lessons, spending more time on TST (come to think of it, I can do that important last part now)).   But it was thinking about how different my nines have been a few times in the past month or so that made me wonder if there was a thread here about it, and sure enough, there was.  In the past month or so, I've had a 38-46 and a 45-39.
    • Day 2 - range session. Focus on tempo. Not as good as last time, but good.
