My wife and I will only be in Las Vegas for a couple days and we will only have time to play one round of golf.  We are looking to play for $100 or less per person.  It looks like we can play Red Rock Arroyo or one of the Paiute courses for this price.  What would you recommend?  Or is there at better course to play in this price range?  Any recommendations would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I"m out there in a few weeks as well & already booked a round at Paiute (Wolf Creek) ... it's on a thursday, 11:30 AM & was $105.    Everything I've seen on youtube about this course blows my mind ... as an east coaster, the terrain looks like an alien landscape - can't wait to just see it with my own eyes.

I've played both those courses that you mentioned and would suggest Primm Valley http://www.primmvalleygolf.com/

The distance to Primm Valley (time wise) is the same to Paiute from the LV strip (different direction).  It's an amazing course and very VERY nicely manicured.

I played the Lakes course and it was in mint condition.  I didn't play the Desert course but did see it while driving in and it also looked fantastic.  You get the best of both worlds with the Lakes side being tree lined (kind of amazing when this place is literally in the middle of a desert patch) and the desert course being more of a traditional desert track...no tress and flatter.  Enjoy!

Pauite!!!  Wolf and Snow Mountain are unbelievable!...you won't find a brown blade of grass on the entire course.  And with the mountains and how it sits almost underneath the ground makes you feel like you are on a different planet.

Paiute and Primm are two of your best options. Paiute has three excellent courses and  is about 25 minutes north of the strip. Primm has two courses and is about 45 minutes south. Paiute would be my preference but both would be good choiuces. Paiute is usually a little less expensive. Here are links to photos of both places:

Oops. I just saw that the preceding post was only 3 days old. Funny how old posts get resurrected

heading back to LV soon & have these 3 tracks booked (unlike Myrtle, you can get great deals in LV on golfnow & by utilizing twilight time rates in the winter):

- Wolf Creek

- Royal Links

- Desert Pines

... and maybe one or two of the shorter executive courses if have a few extra hours here and there - they look pretty good too.

"Wolf Creek" is up in Mesquite, NV...."The Wolf" is at Pauite Resort....two different courses. Common mistake. The first time I went out there my friend booked us at The Wolf...and for months I was checking out Wolf Creek's website and getting pumped up...I was even playing it on Tiger Woods PGA Tour on Xbox. And when we got to the course...I was like...wait a minute, this doesn't look like wolf creek. Although I was still thuroughly pleases to be playing at Pauite. :-D

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
