Well, I have been working a lot lately and it has been COLD outside, so I haven't worked on any part of my game (really worked on it) in a few months.  And to be honest, I haven't had the desire to.  I have had two of my playing partners tell me that they are going to quit playing for a while. My other playing partner is in school and won't get much playing time until that is done (nursing school).  So it has been a very depressing winter as far as golf goes.

I had almost lost my drive to even play much this spring and then I get a phone call....I had applied at Dick's a couple of months ago for a 2nd job.  Well, they finally called back and I got the job in the golf department.  So, I have a pretty good feeling that this will put that spark back into me to get started on my game. Maybe I can even get some swing work in while it's slow. I know the Pro that works in the store, so I will for sure hit him up for some tips, etc...

I don't want to lose my drive because my son's loving the game so far and I don't want anything I do to affect his love of the game because he has some really good natural talent.  I am sure that this is just the winter time blues and I will get over it, but it just seems much worse this year.  It's almost like everyone that I used to play with has quit.  I need to keep it up though....that way when they come back, I'll be that much ahead of them.

Anyway, just needed to vent a little.  Anything to get me back in the groove of things!!

Keep after it man. I got pretty depressed when my job relocated me from Tampa to Jacksonville and I thought it was pointless to play golf by myself or with strangers. I joined a local country club with a guy at the office and now I have a group of 20+ guys who are just as crazy about golf as I am.

    • Not really, no. I don't know the history, what you've worked on, what you've tried and moved away from… etc.
    • Day 9: 2/16/25 Putting through 50 mm gates from 11”. Swing pressure shift drills.
    • Definitely not a favorite… For some reason my wife and I started watching Cobra Kai. I know the original was pretty cheesy, but the inability of these people to get over shit that happened like 30 years ago is astounding. And these kids would be arrested, but they don’t even seem to get suspended from school. Would Danny not notice that Johnny’s son looks like Johnny? Etc.? Why would a completely different dojo that has the same name be “banned”? Oy. Not sure we’ll make it to season 2.
    • Day 139 - 2025-02-16 Weather led to a rescheduled GEARS lesson, so I used the time to work on my swing for 60 minutes or so. All downswing stuff. Some swings at 93 MPH. Most around 75-80.
