What is a firecracker scramble tournament?

I am thinking about playing in a firecracker scramble tournament but I am not sure what this is, could some body please explain?

Down in Oklahoma, Lawton C.C. hosts the annual Firecracker Invitational during the Fourth of July weekend. It's an individual, medal play contest, however.

What time of year is your Firecracker? Any tie-in to the Fourth?

It's probably the same as a shotgun start, put on by someone who is anti-guns. lol  But seriously, a shotgun start is where everyone goes out at the same time, on different tees, and waits for a shotgun blast, or firecracker pop to begin play.

Anyway, have fun!  Scrambles are a great time!

You sure they don't have a bunch of kids hiding OB with fireworks ready to light them off in your backswing? That would make for a hell of a tournament.

I just found out that it is just a scamble tournament with teammates randomly picked.
