I was just wondering. I like to tinker with clubs, and can't seem to find any name brand clubheads. Do you have to be wholesaler? Just curious. I don't see the point of putting a really nice shaft on a knock off club head.

Probably, if you look hard enough.  My best guess is that you won't find them at a box store.  I would think the best thing to do would be to get friendly with a local pro shop since they have direct contact with club reps.  They could probably get you what you need.  However, they may not do it at all.  They would simply request the shaft you wanted so they can sell that too.  I doubt you would get a huge price break though.  Unless you know someone and can get a deal, probably just better off buying the head you want with the cheapest shaft available and pulling the current shaft.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

If you mean name brands like Titleist, Ping and TaylorMade then the answer is no.  If you mean name brands like Maltby, Alpha, and Geek then the answer is yes, and there are many.

I think your best bet to find just clubheads is Ebay.

You can purchase Miura (Japan), Seven Hills, and Kyoei components from Tour Spec Golf .  Not clones but not exactly Adams either, Japanese boutique?

Okay, thanks. I guess my biggest thing is to not be a clone. I don't mind no name quality suff either, just can't get myself to like the "zing" clubs and such LOL
