After work I went to Roger Dunn Golf and hit the Titleist AP1, TM Burner 2.0, Adams CB2, and the Mizuno JPX800. I know clubs are such a personal thing so I don't mean to sound like an advertisement or offend.

First, I eliminated the Burner 2.0. Ya, they're cool and all but, I wasn't "feelin it." These were my front-runners initially.

Next, I hit the JPX800. Whoa! What a feel. I'm not well versed enough to explain why something feels the way it does but, these just felt crazy good. Solid and like they just "clicked."

I tried to clear my mind and hit the CB2. Hm? Kinda "dead" feeling. Plus, they were the most expensive and they don't look as sexy in person. The black finish looks kinda like a faded dark gray. Go figure.

I realized that it was between the AP1 and the JPX800.

The AP1 was really nice. I liked it more than the TM 2.0 and the CB2. They had a really "polished" feel.

It came down to the AP1 and the JPX800...

If you have been following this thread you know that I had not even considered the JPX800 before some folks here suggested them. I'm glad they did.

In the end the JPX800 won me over.

The club heads were smaller than what I'm used to but, they just seem to "find" the ball hit after hit. Not to mention the "click" sound they make just feels awesome.

The only bummer is the "Mizuno guy" and fitting cart were at another location so I have to wait until Monday night to get fitted. It's gonna be a long weekend

Thank you all for your insight and input!

This place rocks.

Congrats on your choice. I just hit the Burner 2.0 today and had my pro order me a set. I had bought a set of Ping i10's off Ebay recently, but just didn't like the shafts and not as forgiving as I need at this point. My pro gave me a good trade in, so not much out of pocket. I'm 56 and moving into senior mode so these will work well. I know the lofts are juiced but they just hit well for me. I would have taken a look at the JPX800, but living in a small town not close to major stores limits my options to demo. And I liked these anyway. The ball really jumps off the club.

Anyway, good luck with your new clubs.

    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
