Myrtle Beach - Mid April - Course Evaluation?

Been getting some quotes on various packages, one that seemed to have a decent price was for a round at the following 4 courses.  Can anyone with first hand experience give me a quick review?

Pearl West
Pearl East

International Club

The two Pearl Courses are pretty good. I haven't played the other two, but from everything I've read and reviews of friends who have played them they are not anywhere near the top courses in Myrtle Beach. There are seevral threads here about MB courses. The best "bang for the buck is to get a package from the legends group. They have 5 courses to choose from and include breakfast, lunch and two beers. All 5 of their courses are very good and the green fees are quite reasonable. I played the International club last year. i won't be in any hurry to go back. if was fine and you will not have a bad round but it is pretty much uninspiring...the only i remember about it is 3 putting on 17 and 18 to shoot an 80...WTF.

there are many better options if you keep looking.

I agree with the other posts. I've played pearl west and international club and both were below par....

I just booked a package for Master's weekend....

We are playing:

April 7 : Carolina National (27 Holes)

April 8 : The Pearl West & East

April 9 : Rivers Edge

81 holes in 3 days!

Packaged with a condo at Oyster Bay, worked out to $280 per person, for four of us.  I thought this was a hell of a deal.  Let me know if you would like me to refer you to the package company.

I'll take you up on the offer to share the company you got that package from, please.  I'm planning a fall trip with a friend.  Would it be more expensive in the fall (Sept or Oct) than the spring in MB?  Just curious.  Thanks for sharing and have a great trip in April.

^ Sure thing.  I worked with Jordan @ Fore-Travel.  www.fore-travel.com  She was a great help to us in answering questions and making sure we got the most for our money.  I would heartily reccommend using her to book your trip.  To be fair, another good person to use is Brian Noblin at www.golfdesk.com   There are plenty of other packagers out there, but I would definitely start with Jordan or Brian.  If they can't do it, no one can.

As for trip timing, Mid March thru Early May and Mid Sept. thru October are the peak seasons for MB golf.  Peak meaning most expensive, however you will be rewarded with the best conditions.  September is on the fence.  Early Sept. is more summer like, so it is cheaper, but you'll still deal with 90 degree days.  Late Setember is better weather wise, but starts to become more expensive.  I believe over all, the spring is most expensive.

Outside of timing, it obviously depends on the package you choose.... courses, lodging, meals, etc all can drastically change the pricing regardless of the time you actually go.
