I am playing in a scramble later today, and it's supposed to be fairly windy. Sustained winds of 16-18 mph. My question is: How does one determine how much extra club to take in the wind? I just sorta wing it most of the time, but if there were a more scientific way to make that sort of decision. For example, it someone had created a chart, it could look like this: a 7mph wind is 1 club, 12 mph is 2 clubs, 18 mph is 3, etc. Of course, I'm speaking of hitting into the wind, but hitting with the wind could be helpful, as well.

I found this app http://itunes.apple.com/app/wind-caddy/id378310125?mt=8 while searching earlier, and didn't know if anyone had used it or had any success. Thanks for any input or advice!

Your desire to change has to be greater than your desire to stay the same.

I would guess that the app is illegal in tournament play, just like GPS units that measure anything more than distances.

Figure 1 club for every 8 mph or so, going into the wind.  A little less, going with the wind.  But since you rarely have a direct wind, it's all about feel.
