Is anyone going to the LA Golf Show this weekend? I think I may go tomorrow. Free balls and a free round for the 500 people.

In my Ogio bag.

Titleist 910D2 driver, Adams irons & hybrid, Callaway wedges & a Nike Method putter.

And a yellow ball.

I went to the show today. It was lame…

A few observations:

Titleist was doing a "ball fitting" but really they were just handing out balls. It was pretty stupid. I mean I got some free ProV1's, but it wasn't even a ball fitting. You could tell the guys at the Bridgestone van were mad because Titleist was basically making a ball fitting into a joke, and giving away free product which Bridgestone wasn't… Call it marketing or whatever you want, but imo I think a lot of companies wasted an opportunity to actually help people and really demo their products. I really wanted to get information from some of the reps on their products and what not, instead it was like a free for all and most of the reps didn't even look like they actually knew their products… Ill just sum it up and say I was disappointed.

The Roger Dunn golf tent was also a joke. Apparently they think that just changing the color of the tags makes things on sale… I was pretty disappointed, especially considering that the stuff they were selling was all two years old or older.  I went there hoping for some good deals, but was also sadly disappointed.

Yeah, save your gas money, $15 parking fee, and your $10 fee for the entry and go buy yourself some golf balls. Hahaha, definitely not worth the drive from SD 1.5 hours+ to Anaheim.

SVT, how was the foot traffic at the show?  I was thinking of getting a booth there but decided against it.  The promoter told me they got 8000 people thru the door last year so I am curious how true that was...  Was it busy?

Thanks

It was extremely crowded! The show opened at 11:00 am Friday morning. I got to the convention center at 11:10 am. I waited in line for about 45 mins just to buy my ticket. Wasn't one of the first 500 people thru the door either (so I didn't get my free Bridgestone balls). Likewise by the time I got to the Bridgestone booth to attempt to sign up for a ball fitting (which was one of the reasons I wanted to go in the first place), the guy told me the were booked for the entire day already. AN HOUR AFTER THE DOORS OPENED!? Wow…

It was very very crowded inside the convention center, and the isles were pretty small considering all the space they could have used, but didn't.

I would say if you were wanting to go as a vendor you will probably get some real good exposure.

Good luck!

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda...  Sounds like I should have done it. Maybe next year!

They desperately need a PGA merchandise show here in Southern California, or at the very least Las Vegas. Something for us West Coast people.
