Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and posting. Become a golf addict for the last few years and have made some strides in getting better. I had a club assessment done and the result was that the set I have has shafts that are too flexible for my swing - I assume that I am swinging faster and harder now than 2 years ago. BTW - I have Taylor Made R7 irons and Burner driver, 3-wood and hybrid.

I tested a number of stiff iron shafts and the KBS Tours were recommended to me - there was definitely a difference with the balls hit as they were all clustered right in the sweet spot as opposed to my old clubs which were all over the face, and the other stiff shafts tested (Project X & DG all steel) which were all clustered together but not on the sweet spot. I have ordered and will be re-shafting to the KBS Tours. I don't think it would have made too much of a difference 2 years ago when I bought the clubs as I wasn't as consistent with my swing.

My driver, 3 wood and hybrid are all still regular flex. My question is this - S hould I be reshafting these clubs as well or perhaps buy new technology in a stiff flex, and also should I get fitted specifically for these clubs? I hit the driver well and average about 250-260 yards and my 3 wood is about 220 yards currently. Oddly enough, I can't hit the hybrid at all and it appears when they did the assessment on the shaft, the FCM was so low, it didn't register. Explains why that is the only club that I hit a drastic hook everytime. Not too sure what benefit I will have reshafting or getting fitted with a new driver, 3-wood and hybrid as it can get rather pricey.

Any wise advice would be appreciated - thank you

getting fitted for the proper shaft is always important. now that your swing is more consistent it's time to have all of them checked. getting the "latest and greatest" high tech driver head is not as necessary as getting the right loft and shaft flex profile for your swing. unfortunately if you can't go to a clubfitter you're stuck with a salesman who'll try to put you in whatever makes him the most money. good luck and don't let anyone sell you anything that doesn't "feel" right to you!
