In theory, this should work right? A buddy of mine brought it up and I was surprised I never tried it.

Instead of the 16gram center weight, you can use a 22gram or 24gram. Only thing that I'm worried about; when I re-shafted my SuperTri, I never thought about adding another 6-8grams. I have an Aldila 70 right, I guess that might mess my swing up a little. Any thoughts?

I just ordered a 24 gram weight and was going to tinker with upping the swing weight on mine.  I'll report back to what I find out.

I've got the older R7 425 TP head... hopefully you'll let me play in this discussion too  :)

Using the weight kit that came with the TP head, the weights can be varied from a total weight of 16 grams up to around 36 grams.

I'm currently playing the head with 30 grams in it, and like the feel of a heavier head.  Adding/reducing weight affects how the shaft loads, but not enough (IMO) to warrant changing shaft stiffness.

I wouldn't go for any heavier than 70g on your shaft unless you really want that type of control.

For every 2 grams of weight you add to the head, you increase the swingweight of the club by 1....

So for a stock supertri (D4) you would change it to D7 or D8 depending on the 22/24 gram weights...

Going to feel completely different.

Adding more weight to the head will change the frequency of the shaft as well... Basically the heavier the head, the less stiff the shaft will play.

Yea I talked to the TM rep today and he advised me against it. I already have the RIP 70 XS and love it. I was told it will feel completely different and kinda defeat the purpose of having a shaft like that. He did say that you will probably see more distance though.

I ordered a 22g just to try. Only $20 figured it can't hurt to try.

Just to add, because of the 3 weights, you change CG based on where you add the weight. Center, lower ball flight. Sides, higher. Also talked about changing the spin off the face as well.
