That's definately true, but the thing I learned from the Ping guys is that there is a line you can cross where increase in ball flight will limit ball roll. That's where the fitting process comes in to play. It finds the optimum arc that also provides the optimum roll.

There's a real good article on this subject in last month's Golf Digest... called the "17 Yard Secret" that looks into the effect of ball flight, landing angles, and roll impact.

Here's the URL to the article: http://www.golfdigest.com/instructio...61217yard.html

This is really amazing in that after wasting hundreds of dollars all summer long I too finally got on a launch monitor and found that I was hitting higher loft (10.5º) and regular shaft drivers all summer and should have been hitting 9º and stiff flex. What did I end up with. SAME Rapture driver as you only regular length was find and 9º with same NVS shaft only stiff. What a hammer!!

Good Article...that's the same launch monitor technology that we use. It gives us the ability to see true ball flight combined with LM data.

I'm getting custom fitted at the Mizuno's fitting centre in Cumbernauld in two weeks. I heard it's an impressive facility with great customer service. I had to book my appointment through my local supplier, but it should be worth the effort.
