Just thought I'd give a quick intro...

Been golfing for about 10 years now (27 yrs old now), down to about a 9 handicap but its not "official". Mostly play the local courses around me..wherever I can get the best deal. Might do a golf trip or 2 each year, nothing special though...still cheap courses, just in a different state!

I've been told that I swing the club from the wrong side of the ball...but that's normally by the old fat guy I'm paired up with, and I usually beat them by 30 strokes so I let them kid around.

Golf bag is pretty average...Cobra FP2 irons (cheap, but I like them)...R7 fw woods...Need a new driver...Oddessy #9 putter...cg12 wedges. Its been a few years since I spent any real money on the contents of my golf bag...but I'm currently in the market for a new driver, which is how I found this site.

Anyhow, that's about it about me. I hope to pick all of your brains for suggestions on a good quality, affordable driver...I'm leaning towards another Cleaveland Launcher at the moment.

Welcome to the forum!  Im just a bit to the north of you and I love spending time in Chicago when I can get away for the weekend.  Chicago is a great city, I just dont much care for your sports teams, other than the Blackhawks.

Packers, Badgers, Brewers.  I do love the Blackhawks though.  Thats gotta count for something!

      The draft is kind of a crap shoot anyway. It’s a guess whether a player is really going to bloom in the pros. It reminds me of those kids I went to college with who were high class rank and 800/800 SATs and flunked out freshman year. College FB is a lot different than the NFL.

      I have to confess. I figured somebody would grab Sanders in the second round. He isn't perfect by any stretch, but so often NFL teams reach for quarterbacks.  I only saw one Colorado Game last year and I watched it in a restaurant/pub/bar place. I have to say I thought Sanders was good. He looked accurate and his O-line was terrible. ... I mean really terrible. Kid was running for his life the second he got the ball in his hands. My thought is that quarterbacks who play behind bad O-lines in college sometimes may make better pros. They get used to having to make quick decisions, and throwing the ball with guys in their face.  A lot of folks are saying his slide is because of his dad. I'm not sure if that's true or not true. I've also heard that next year's crop of QB's is supposed to be really good, so teams feel like "Hey, let's wait until next year."
