Hello everyone.  My name is Butch and I work as a Loss Prevention Consultant here in good ole FLA.  Today I went to an antique show at the City of Arcadia in Desoto County. I came across an odd golf club and I'm trying to find out anything that I can about it.  It is a Macgregor Masie 5  then it has the word Birdie written in script.  Directly under that (and here is the clintcher) there are two perfectly enscribed swastikas.  Does anyone have any idea what or where these clubs are from?

The club is a steel shaft but not far from the wooden days, one pro told me that it looked like it was from the early 30's which, of course, would meld well with the pair of swastikas. If you know anything about this club please email me or call me at

bdarab@prm-fl.com  or  jdarab@comcast.net   or 239-839-7786

Thanks,

Butch Darab

It's not as sinister as you think. Basically it's the indian sun symbol for good luck and well being, A lot of other MacGregor clubs have a shamrock on them. The swastika is (was) a very commonly used sybol all over the world prior to the mid 1930s.
