I DVR'd this show last night.  This morning I watched the first half and I was pretty impressed with what I saw.  Nothing earth shattering.  At this stage in the game I'm pretty much aquainted with the proper processes of a good golf swing.  The trick for me is figuring out how to actually do those things in my swing.  Breed made some good points in explaining how your setup can effect the outcome.  I took his tip about tipping the rear shoulder lower than the forward one while making sure the forward forearm was above the trailing forearm at setup.  I've played around with this all before but what seemed to help me was getting that lead forearm (the left in my case) above the trailing one.  That really helped me to come at the ball from the inside and swing out.  As a chronic slicer/fader of the ball I'm used to hitting the occassional draw/hook, but I've always suspected it was more the result of a pull rather than truely hitting the ball from the inside.  With this setup though I was having a much easier time of coming at the ball from the inside.  I would actually hit an occassional push that stayed dead straight.  That's not something I see much of with my typical outside-in swing path.  Hitting a push and getting the club just a bit more closed at impact was giving me a ball going down the target line fairly straight and sometimes with a slight draw.

Good golf instruction is as much about figuring out what the student needs to "do" in order to produce a technically sound swing as it is about educating the student about mechanics and physics.  Hopefully I can use some of this to help me straighten out my outside-in swing path to produce more consistancy with the driver.  It's always struck me that too many golf instructors don't focus enough on the driver specifically.  It's an important club and IMO acts as a pretty good bellwether for one's overall game.
