Hello everyone, I have a problem that has been with me ever since I started golf. I have a VERY strong grip. When I first started playing my entire right hand would be underneath the grip, and while its gotten slightly better, it's still terrible.

The thing is, I can actually hit the ball pretty well when I'm on, and I have a respectable golf game, about an 8 hcp. But it is clear that I'm not playing to my full potential as my swing looks good but I've had trouble with snap hooks and pulls.

Does anyone have any tips on how to make my grip changing experience less painful and easier? I'm worried that I won't be able to hit the ball at all as I undergo the change.

Thanks for reading.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a strong grip. For some, including some pros, it feels more natural. Just make sure it's not you swing causing your hooks before you monkey around with your grip would be my advice.

The thing is I have seen my swing on video and everything and it seems to be on plane, and with my driver on good shots I tend to play a small fade. I can feel my hands coming into the swing and it seems I can't release my hands normally, and when I do it's a dead pull/snap hook type of shot. My grip is more than just strong as well, I would be ok with just a slightly strong grip, but my hand is sitting partly under the grip (as in very strong).
