Definitely yes. I love my 60* lob, it's very versatile and is invaluable within 30 yards of the green. Definitely a surgical instrument, in my opinion.

I use a 60 degree and absolutely love it! On full shots it will shred balls, but I have loads of them that I get through work. My lob wedge by the way is a Vokey Spin Mill.

i HAVE A 60* and next to my putter it could be the most used club in my bag. My money club is usually my 8 iron from about 150 i can most of the time put it where i want it but when im anywhere near the green from 30 yards in its the lob wedge. I also love it outta green bunker shots. it stops on a dime.

First shot I hit with my first owned a 60 I said to myself "I can't believe what I've been missing!!!!"

Literally, when you're short sided, especially in the bunker, and you need to stop the ball or have little roll, what else would you do? Flop a 56? I'm sorry, there's no substitute for this club.

Additionally, from 70 yards in, I can count on that club to go the EXACT distance I want...why mess with a 3/4 sand wedge?

The 60 degree wedge has helped me with my short game and all around, helping me drop my handicap and giving me more confidence during every round. Pick one up, practice with it, and get rid of that 2 iron you never use!!

I saw a dramatic improvement from 30 yards in when I bought my lob wedge. As a high handicapper, my second shot does not always end up on the green on par 4s. I need something that can get me close for a high percentage putt to save par. The lob works for me (I've even gotten a birdie with it: A blind squirrel can eventually find a nut). I do have to practice with it a lot to figure out what I can do with it.

When I was using a sand wedge for the same shots I would either be too timid and blade the ball or be too aggressive and let her rip over the green.

I say get a cheap used titleist vokey or cleveland 588 to see how it works.

Couldn't give up my 60*. I had been trying out a lot of different types of wedges(brands, loft, bounce), and had finaly went back to a pair of Vokey's (50* and 54*). Wanted to try out the SpinMilled cut, and got it in a 60*. Hasn't left my bag since. Like everyone has said it's one of the "How did I live with out it?" things.

love the lob wedge. you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands. the key to the lob wedge around the green is to let the club do the work, just kind of let it fall on the ball. the one thing i don't like to do with the lob wedge is to muscle it in from 87-95 yards. it is too easy to chunk it or go right under it.

I really like having a 60 degree in the bag, very useful for different shots around the green, and for shots within its range from the fairway. I use it for shorter bunker shots, most of my pitching and for some chipping, for downhill slopes, and also open it up when needed. I am currently using a Nikce VR 60.10, and also have a Nike VR 60.06, find the 60.10 to be a little more useful for the courses I play on. Be sure to practice with the 60 to get used to it and get confidence in it.

My 54 only stops on full shots.
My 60 stops on 30 yard pitches.

60 is also brilliant for around the greens.
Takes a good bit of practice to get good with one though.

It's probably the club I use the most other than my driver and putter. I hit my 60 about 110 yards on a full swing. I use it for just about every shot from 20 to 110 yards. As for shorter chip shots I prefer less loft. Most par 4's on my course play Drive-LW for me. I use it for bunker shots as well shorter than 15 yards. I could not imagine taking it out of my bag

I very much enjoy my current LW...58 degrees loft / 14 degrees bounce.

It is a natural extension of my wedges PW, 50 degree UW and 54 degree SW.

I enjoy the ability to have a full swing club for 60 yards and slightly shorter. It is a beauty out of high lipped bunkers that have near pin locations. I don't use it a ton around the green as my SW is the real workhorse for me. That SW is crazy...so versatile. The LW shares in some of that versatility but not to the same amount. I've tried the additional lofted LWs (60-64 degrees) but they yield poor results for me.

I use the heck out of my lob wedge! I use it more than I use my sand wedge to be honest. I am really comfortable with the lob wedge... I tend to over swing with my sand wedge for some odd reason.

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
