freshly cut hole

I had to wait on the first hole for the grounds crew to cut a new hole.  Seemed kind of odd to be doing that at lunchtime on the first nice sunny day in a while but I guess the grounds crew fell behind with the rain and cold we've had lately.  Single put for par so the 4-7 minute wait was worth it.

Huh?  How does making  a new hole on the green stimulate your hay fever.

I think he thinks the OP is talking about mowing the grass. I'm pretty sure he meant actually cutting new holes into the greens, which I've seen a few times as well. It's especially worse when they do it from 1-18. One time I got stuck behind the guy doing it the entire round, thankfully he offered us a free round.
