Have you ever had to quit a round early because you lost all your balls?

I kid you not, I read this thread 2 days ago, then yesterday, kissed the last 2 holes of my round goodbye because I ran out of balls, I really need to stop being a hacker...

Yes, had to borrow one from my brother to finish.  Since then I'm pretty good about checking and double checking to make sure I have enough.  Also have gotten better and lose fewer balls, this year I have played 7 or 8 rounds and still working on the same sleeve of Taylormade TP Blacks.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

I used to play often with a good friend of mine who has never broken a 100 on a rather difficult course in the area and before the round he would always buy a dozen pro v1's and by the turn he would have to buy another dozen, of pro v1's.  This always cracked me up, because he would say he chose the most expensive balls because they were "superior" and if it weren't for that superiority he would lose more balls. Yeah.........sure.

Heard a good story relating to this that happened on the Old Course many years ago.

Apparently the waiting on the closing holes was getting longer and longer, eventually a group arrived on a tee (don't know which one) to find a backlog of other groups.

Turns out that a Japanese four ball had lost all their balls between them, bar one!

They were supposedly hitting this ball, marking it and then running back for their partner to hit it!!!

Don't know if it's true but very amusing!!!
