So I have to tell someone who gets it, because my wife doesn't understand golf. I played in my first multi day tournament over the last two days. It was a four man team total event. I unfortunantely was on a team with two guys who had never been on a golf course before and both of them shot a 140 on both days. That's the max they would give. So ultimately we were dead last. On the bad side of the tournament, on day one I shot a 99, the slow paced play of the other two killed my game. On the upside I was able to play in a different foursome the second day(today) and shot an 85 with three 3 putts on par threes after hitting the green with first shot and 2 doubles on par fours. So the possibility of going into the upper 70's was there. I am excited because my game is finally getting back on track. On the individual side I finished 17th out of over 70 golfers so I felt good about that. Not a bad day at the course and not a bad first tournament, although I'll admit there was not a lot of scratch players. But regardless I felt good walking off the course today. Sorry for the patting my own back post but my wife was looking at me like a monkey doing a math problem.

When its breezy swing easy!!!!!

That's awesome, man! Last week I played in a doubles tournament with the local girl's high school team. Since the ladies outnumbered the men, I was paired with two different girls, forming two teams. Now bear in mind I've worked at this golf course for three years, I've been going there all my life, and my uncle (a PGA teaching pro) owns it.

I came in last. And second to last.

Nice score differential (99 to 85).  In similar tourneys, I tend to play down/up to my playing partners' abilities; inconsistent when there's significant time between shots (tough to get into a groove).

Here's to your wife:

    • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
