Hi guys,

I'm a golfer out of Colorado and I've had the golf bug for quite a few years now, consistently lowering my scores from the 90's to the 80's (and hopefully the 70's soon). Just like everyone else, I am trying to get better every week.

I am also a fitness professional with a private studio in the south denver suburbs. My goal is to help golfers look, feel, and play better. I have been published in a couple golf magazines and featured on Denver TV. Obviously my passions are golf and fitness. That's why I also created golfconditioningnow.com as an online resource for golfers to maximize their exercise routines anywhere.

Moving forward, I am here to help people on the forum with their workouts. I would love to answer simple questions for everyone.

Let me know what's going on!

Glad to have you, Grant.

As an instructor I'd love it if everyone was better conditioned. Sometimes we ask someone to do something and they'll grunt and groan and say "that's difficult" when there's no earthly reason why it should be difficult.

Not to mention that being in better health so you can play better golf pales in comparison to the best reason: so that you can live a longer, healthier, and ultimately happier life!

I look forward to your contributions in our Fitness and Exercise forum , and welcome to The Sand Trap .

Thanks Erik!

You are spot on about health and the ability to do the things you love.

I always tell my clients: "golf is more enjoyable when you feel, look, and play your best."  Exercise will help with all three!

Great to speak with an instructor btw...I am sure we can help a lot of people on thesandtrap together.

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
