Hi,

I got these clubs from my son who is a golf pro. He says the shafts are the very best you can get. I have never heard of them but I think they will be too much for me to play with. Does anyone know about this shaft? They were brand new and I didn't want to hit them and mess them up so I put them on Ebay and told him to get me a regular flex shaft.

It's a well-known shaft certainly, but not a mythic beast.

High launch, low spin. Graphite Design recommends the DI-6 S flex for players with 90 - 105 mph swing speeds and I've read on the Internet that they play slightly soft to flex*. If you're a 4 index they would probably be in your ballpark. What's the loft on the driver? That's probably more of an issue in deciding if you should play the clubs.

* Of course, on the Internet everyone hits it 320 yards.

Stretch.

I play to a 3hdcp and hit my drives about 275. I use hybrid 3,4,5,6 for irons. Ping Zing II 6I - 58 lobwedge. right now I am using a Taylormade R580 with Grafloy Pro-launch Blue stiff and I think it is too stiff. I hit a fade with it and lost distance over my old Yonnex cyberstar with nanospeed shaft stiff. My swing is around 96 but some stiff shafts are stiffer than others.

If you can hit your driver 275 yards, then you are probably swinging closer to 105 - 110 mph and are going to need, at least, a stiff flex in just about any shaft model you choose. The original ProLaunch Blue was very stout, so it's quite possible the GD DI would suit you better. Really there's no way to know without going out and hitting the clubs.
