New set of Ping irons ordered

My wife has been bugging me on what to get me for fathers day so I went to the golf shop the other day and hit all the new drivers comparing them to my Nike VR pro. There really wasn't one that just jumped out that hit better than my current driver, so that was out. After a couple of days of thinking about it, I decided to be fitted for a new set of irons. I've played golf since high school (30 years ago) and started back playing serious this year after about a 10 year layoff and have always played off the shelf clubs.

I went yesterday after work and got fitted for a new set of Pings. Ended up getting a mixed set, 4-5-6 irons are G15's and the 7-UW i15's and a matching Tour-s SW, all are green dot + 1/2"

After getting home an hour late I told my wife my fathers day gift should arrive next Friday

I'm surprised you were able to get a mixed set of G-15 and i-15. Pretty cool. Getting the fitting was key.

The mixed set was actually the shops suggestion. After hitting both I was having a hard time deciding. I liked the looks of the i15's but I like the extra forgiveness of the g15's. When they made the suggestion of the mixed set it just made sense.

Clubs played great this morning. Cut 5-6 shots off what my average has been lately. We'll see if it holds true again tomorrow.
