So I just posted part two of the two part series in which I took a look at the strength of fields for the events that either Tiger or Phil played in. First go take a read of Part 1 and Part 2 if you haven't already.

In the first article Erik gave some great feedback in the comments, and I took those to heart in the second article. While I was crunching the numbers I found it quite interesting that Tiger didn't have a HUGE lead over Phil in terms of strength of field, but his dominance in actually winning stronger field events than Phil does. To Phil's credit he did win The Masters, but that was only his second strongest field event. In his strongest field event he finished T16th. Third strongest: T54th. Not really impressive in my eyes...

What are your thoughts here? Do you think Tiger is really a lot better then Phil than last years numbers lead you to believe, or do you believe the numbers don't lie?

Thinking golf thoughts to get through the winter,

Yes, I do believe that Tiger is that much better than Phil, Tiger is consistent. I'm pretty sure 95% of folks would pick Tiger over Phil to be on their golf team.
