Starting to get into my golf seriously of late, probably through boredom of shooting 100+

My driver I hit consistantly well, after clearing up some alignment issues I bomb them a nice distance all day long, whcih with the hot weather the UK is having is making life easier also!

Bu my iron play has always been "dodgy", until recently I swang the same as i would my driver which i think is quite flat, and have always suffered with shanks, slices, tops etc........but yesterday i started try to swing more upright, and damn would you believe it i got every shot off the ground, and even hooked a few slightly.

Does this sound right to you guys? have i perhaps been a bit one dimensional?

Ive worked hard recently on my balance, posture, rotation, and its annoying on the range when i hit everything fine but on the fairway i duff pretty much everyshot!
