Bubba's attitude towards to the European Tour, who have paid him an appearance fee, and fellow competitors is nothing short of a disgrace.
Saying he is homesick and can't wait to get home (after the 1st round, mind), answering questions at his interviews as if he was Tiger, saying there is too much cameras/noise, stating he won't be playing in Europe anymore and his sulking is just sickening.
It was also mentioned on Sky Sports that he refused to share a courtesy car with a Euro Tour player yesterday and demanded his own. Wow. I'd have made him walk.

He used to be my 2nd favourite golfer but I don't know what to think now. I hope all this was blown out of proportion.

Dustin Johnsonlast week, on the other hand, just played his golf. I applaud him.

Bubba Watson thinks he is way better than he really is

Bubba Watson has ADD and is generally weird and/or eccentric. Strange noises and unfamiliar surroundings would likely set him off (imo). Dustin Johnson is rumoured to be dumb as a post and perhaps he doesn't even know he's in France?!?

See the last link I posted. Can't blame all his ADD on that. And Dustin isn't in France.

Doh!! Didn't see the "last week" part. That shows how closely I've been following the European Tour (and the career of Dustin Johnson) lateley. i.e. not at all.

Give me a break, I see some crap posted on this site but that is no excuse for how he has acted, ADD or not.

He is a professional and should act that way, not sharing a car with another Euro player because he wanted his own! superstar or not it sounds like he is up his own ass “do you know who I think I am” and all that….

As for Johnson I am sure he knows where he when in Europe (not playing in France) is and his conduct has been impeccable on the Euro Tour events he has played, gaining him much respect and many fans here in Europe.

He has been the ambassador for American golf that Bubba has not.

There doesn't need to be a rumor that DJ is as dumb as a box of rocks, all you have to do is look at his eyes.  There doesn't seem to be anything behind them.  He has the look of a space cadet.

Bubba is definately out there.  He speaks his mind and doesn't blow smoke up anybody's ass.  I find nothing wrong with him saying he misses home.  Who cares if he knows anything about France?  He is there to make money and play golf, period.  I think our friends accross the Atlantic are overreacting a bit.

Did you even read the links? Think you are underreacting a bit to be quite honest. There's a thing called respect. Maybe that's not as important on the PGA Tour or something...I dunno.

Ref Dustin, Yeah the eye's tell everything, what a stupid statement to make.

Ref Bubba, Well I would not have expected anything else from a "there is nothing outside the USA" person, oh yeah he is being paid to play golf so just walk around bitching and making stupid comments, refuse to share a car as he should have his own, as for France I would not expect him to know anything about the place as it does not matter does it, it is not in the USA

Is the Louvre the museum that has that glass pyramad thing in front of it? I mostly know this from watching interviews with outraged French people and a terrible movie about Jesus' great granddaughter.

Based on the Shackleford blog it sounds like he's getting roasted for being honest in one interview and then getting further roasted for turning down other interviews. Is he a jerk or just being cautious? I'm no fan of Bubba Watson (the loveable pink shaft weilding mullet sporting goofball just doesn't appeal to me) but I've read other comments (in blogs no less) that suggest he's done nothing worthy of a scandal.

We've all got issues, and I think his ADD is played up way too much.  He seems like a nice guy overall, but he's also a whiny b****.  Hard to root for.  And I agree with the comments about Dustin Johnson-not that I needed to read some interviews with him to confirm my suspicions, 'cause his eyes certainly do tell the whole story.  An extra heaping of dumb.

I did read the links.  Thanks for asking. I found them to carry a bit of sensationalism.  I mean, why even mention the "attractive" employee from Sky? Both said the exact same thing by the way since one quoted the other. What is so wrong with telling them to speak to his manager? His manager knows/makes his schedule, so he would know if Bubba is available. Who did he disrecpect?  I don't find anything disrespectful in anything he said or did. Big deal he called the Eifel Tower a big tower.  IT IS a big tower. And the arch is an arch. Do you know the terms of the appearance fee contract? He may have had his own courtesy car promised to him in the contract. His job there was not to "familiarize" himself with France, it was to "familiarize" himself with the golf course and make money.

When Luke Donald plays at Hilton Head, is he asked any questions that require local knowledge? What about GMac or Poulter who live in the US? I've never heard McIlroy or any other European player asked a question about anything but their golf. Not about their stay, their travel, or their opinion on the local tourist hot spots.

I don't understand the people defending him. It may be acceptable behaviour wherever you are from, but in Europe (especially continental Europe) it's just seen as disrespect and being stuck up.

No, but then they would have been talking about the golf course and tournament when they were asked "how are you finding Hilton Head" by the interviewer and not trying to be clever by saying "oh yeah its great we did a bunch of stuff on that island where the natives used to live" not that he was asked a question about local knowledge anyway.

All I am saying is that why start rambling about stuff that he was not asked about by the interviewer, when clearly he was being asked about his round and golf and not if he missed home or what sight seeing he had done.

    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
    • Day 17 (26 Mar 25) -  Big day working on a project at church - therefore it was grab some time with the 9i in the backyard working on pitch and runs later in the day.  Focused on keeping the ball flighted to get some good rollout.  Hit about 20 shots doing that and then moved to the 54 to keep working on getting good torso rotation and not flipping through it.  Was not perfect as there were some bloopers and fliers but overall a good session on distance control.
