Hey Guys/gals, first time posting but been reading for a little while.  I'm about 2 months into the sport. Growing up I had friends that played and picked up a little along the way.  I've taken some lessons and have been hitting the driving range a couple times a week.  I bought IMO decent clubs so I wouldn't have gear as a excuse during my learning process.  I went to a Golf America Event  this weekend here in Albuquerque and was fortunate enough to win a 90 minute stroke evaluation with Golf Tec. From what I have read they put cameras on you and break down all of the the start and finish of your stroke correcting things and then allow you access to it via the internet any time you want.

My question is, has anyone else had one of these sessions?  Should I wait a while to redeem this?  Or would it benefit me more now.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Jeff

i found it really helpful. really depends on the pro though. the whole purpose of that free session is for them to in the end, sell you lessons. they will hook you up, have you swing, do some general analysis, draw lines on the screen and compare you to pros, give you some things to think about/work on and then ask: "So when do you want to come back in?", or "So what kind of lesson package were you interested in?" The lessons are kinda pricy, but i found well worth it.

So again, go ahead and make the session, but be prepared for a sales pitch at the end. These guys run of commission and # of customers so you cant blame them

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a call today to schedule.  I have a local pro giving me lessons which are very reasonable.

Thanks again.

I went down to golf tec and went through the process.  The camera equipment was great it showed me exactly what I was doing wrong.  However we only corrected one issue.  The other issues will be saved for future lessons.  I think I'm going to keep on with my lessons from my previous teacher but alternate in every once in a while for the camera lessons.  It was a good experience and I'm glad I was able get it for free.  I am making better contact now and generating more power.

Thanks for the help guys.

    • I'm bad about taking pictures, but here are a few Hole 1 on Duke, looking toward the green. The elevated green with bunkers surrounding it was a theme. The other theme was pin placements that were tough - this one is pretty far left. There were basically no easy pins on this day.     Hole 3 at Pine Needles. An extremely cool hole. Hole 5 at Pine Needles. The picture doesn't do the green site justice. Green of 6 at Southern Pines. A wild green, and a really cool setting at the edge of the property: Hole  Tee shot on 5 at Tobacco Road. Flag is on the flag, the huge fairway is to the right. Hole 8 at Tobacco Road. Downhill, medium length par 3 with this pin in the front part of the green. Really cool looking shot. A look at the pin placement and cottage on Tobacco Road 14. I hit one of my best shots of the trip here, to about 15 feet.
    • Yes, but season 2 being all of six episodes is a bit of a let-down, even if the season itself wasn't.
    • This is one of the greatest posts I've ever seen in my life on sports message boards like this!! Bravo, Sir!! 👏
