Hi everyone. I'm new to this site and kinda new to golf. Started playing when I was 14 but stopped at 15 then took up the wonderful sport again about 5 months ago. I have a handicap of 28 (got to start somewhere!) and am from Middlesbrough, North East England.

Hey, welcome to the Sand Trap. It's good to have you here, and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

And don't worry, everyone had to have a 28 handicap before they were a scratch golfer. So like you said, you have to start somewhere, and a 28 handicap isn't too bad for the amount of time you have been playing golf.

Hello, everyone! My first name is Alan. I've been a touring golf professional for over 30 years, mostly on mini-tours in New England and New York. I have played regionally in most southern areas on a limited basis. I have also taught golf for a long time (since 1972) and I have run a lot of charity events as well as being at several courses as head professional.
