Hello, I am a relatively new golfer. However, I have been golfing for a bit over 2 years now, and I'm plagued by one recurring problem: my drives. I make solid contact and a consisten swing and setup 9 times out of 10, but the ball flight is never predictable from one shot to the next. I golf with a relatively cheap set of beginner clubs that havent been too bad to me. I hit my irons very well, chips usually aren't a problem, and my putting is more than satisfactory for now. I'm wondering if at this point a quality new driver could help me get some consistency and predictability? Right now one shot goes left, one shot goes right, one flies low and fast, and the next sails high and slow. Is getting a new driver a good choice?

If this is happening.......

Eventually, but the best choice for now would be a lesson or two with a pro, combined with a driver fitting to fit a driver head and shaft to your swing speed, tempo, etc.  Randomly buying drivers won't be your best option, but will likely be the most expensive and most frustrating.
