uuhh.. way to new, need help!! (what ball is best?)

So, my mom's birthday is coming up this week, and she got into golf about 4 or 5 months ago. (I've played a little bit, still trying to warm up to the sport) anyway, not the point. I come from a motocross and figureskating background, I don't know what the heck to do. But my mom needs some golf balls, and I don't know what the heck to get her! does anybody have any suggestions for a beginner lady golfer? Is there such things as women's golf balls? and are they worth buying? I REALLY REALLY appreciate your help! (If this helps: she has a really hard swing for a woman) but like I said I know nothing. I need help! thank you!
