Just moved in from Philly and am looking for golf courses to play and a golf partner or two. I hate playing by myself, too competitive to compete against myself. Can you guys recommend courses, or would want to get out sometime?

Welcome to Tampa.....where we play golf 52 weeks a year.

We have a little game at Pebble Creek GC every Saturday (6,000 yds or 5,00 yds if over 65).....$30 to play + $20 for the game.  We have an 8:00 shotgun start and you can get breakfast when you register, beginning st 7 A.M. in Mulligan's. You don't have to have a group....we'll pair you up so you can meet the gang.  We pay 1st thru 4th based upon a modified Stableford point system. We also pay CTP's & Skins.

To participate, you must play 3 times and we average your points. 2 for par, 4 for birdie &1 for bogey. Then, each week if you do not cash, you drop 1 point. If you cash (1st thru 4th) your points increase 1 for every 3 you are above your quota.

The average number is 24 to 30 players each week. I withold $4/week from everyone and deposit into a bank account. Every 6 months we have a 2 day tourney with a payout of approx $4,000.

Here's the link to Pebble Creek.... http://www.pebblecreekclub.com/

Pebble Creek is located in New Tampa area off Bruce B. Downs Blvd.

We have a lot of fun......occasionally we travel to another course.  Some of the guys (24 this year) also take the game on the road for a Buddy Trip each June.

    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
