I started playing golf about 3 months ago. I learned on a set of Mizuno MP-14 Blades. They were passed down to me. Needless to say, they were hard for me to hit. I would hit the ball well about 50% of the time, and the other 50% the ball would go nowhere near where I wanted it to go. It has now gotten to the point where I feel like I need to change clubs.

Currently, I average between a bogey and double bogey on a round of golf. I am looking for something that will give me forgiveness now, but not too much so that I could use the irons for a long time. I am also looking for something forged. Nothing compares to the way forged irons feel when hit.

The irons that really catch my eye right now are the Mizuno JPX-800 Pro and Titleist 710 CB. I like the way that they look and the reviews online say they're pretty forgiving, yet giving you control of the ball still. Are there any other suggestions out there? I would hope to spend under $400, but willing to cough up more if it is worth it.

If anyone is interested in the set of MP-14 I am selling, you could check it out here: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/spo/2587454624.html

$300 includes shipping and head covers. IT COULD BE YOURS!

Any clubs that fit your body would be good clubs. Three months in...I'd recommend something Super Game Improvement like an Adams hybrid set -- irons and hybrids. Lots of good options. Just make sure they fit you.

Adams and Ping would help you the most now as they have some good (super) Game Improvement Irons, and are both quality enough to last you. If your looking for forged, check out the CB2 irons by Adams. Forged irons w/ all the forgiving attributes that you'll need.

You're right about the Mizuno. I went with the JPX-800 Pro. Tested out at the range three times already and already see massive improvement in my game. Shots go further and straighter more consistently. I plan to keep these irons for a while.

Switching to these irons also helped me get rid of my wrist pain that I would feel after a round of golf. I think it may have been caused by too many mishit balls with the MP-14 causing the shaft to rattle and creating a lot of stress on my wrist. Best golf purchase so far.
