I built a Set of Pinhawk SL's and a Geek Golf DCT driver w/ a used fujikura shaft all for around 300 bucks. I am super happy with the way they perform. I have joined a simulator shop for a membership and the owner asked to hit them and he said they felt great and of course they feel great to me. I do have one gripe about the Pinhawks. Although they are beautiful pieces of steel and value golf did a great job with them the thick top line is a bit distracting at address. I don't know why. My next project is to build a set of wedges. Here are the pictures. Please Comment! 2011-09-29_22-27-26.jpg 2011-09-29_22-27-12.jpg 2011-09-29_22-26-57.jpg 2011-09-29_22-25-58.jpg 2011-09-29_22-25-29.jpg

Nice!  I'd like to know what you think of that driver out on the course.  I've been wanting to try the DCT head, as well as an SMT Encore head.

The Geek Head is really nice and Super Forgiving. The shaft I Have on there is pretty short but and I definately out swing it. when I slow my swing down I can hit 250+ on the course and 220 on the range. If I get lucky and manage to square the face with a full swing I have hit 270-290 on the sim. I will have to reshaft it and let you know.

Aaron and Value Golf are top notch. Not that it matters to me, but your driver is no-conforming.:-O But then you probably knew that?

Interesting that you went with the single length irons.  I also found it humorous that your irons were completely out of order in the pic.  Also, do you happen to know if the lie angles of the irons fit you?

I went with the Single Lengths because I wanted to have as few swing planes as possible while I'm still learning. (Been playing since July 4th) They were out of order because it was pretty late at night when I took the pics, and they are Pinhawk SL's all have the same lie

BTW, I wasn't questioning you.  I've just never tried the single length irons.  As for the lie, I was just wondering if the lie angle was fitted to you and your swing.

I didn't think you were. I looked at a chart for lie and length I play a 1/4 inch down from standard. Whether or not those lies are "true" I have not had that checked.

Okay, that's fine if it works for you.  I went through a fitting and ended up with irons 1/2" under "standard", and the 6-iron has a 64.5" lie angle (with the irons I'm using, that's 3* upright from standard through the whole set).  If I go by static measurements, I'd generally be playing standard length irons with lie adjusted 1* upright.

But if your handicap is 15, then you're doing better than me.

I hear ya there.  I've actually only played once this year, and it has been about two years since I played.  I do practice in my yard when I can.  Still, the front 9 was great.  Shot birdie on the first hole and two birdies total on the front for a 42.  Then proceeded to shoot 51 on the back...  A couple blow up holes killed me.

I'm planning to start playing more next year.  These days, I'm just too busy with my band, but I will probably bow out in a few months.
