Courses Near Paso Robles, CA

Renting a house in Paso Robles with the family for TG.  Searched around a bit (including here).  Looking for the best course that's not too ridiculously expensive within 30-40 minutes of Paso Robles.  Am currently thinking of Hunter Ranch.  Anyone played there?  Other courses in that area that are better?  I've read good things about La Purisma too but that's too far from Paso Robles.

Dairy Creek is an affordable, fun track with great views. In SLO -- not far.

Hunter Ranch is a good test of golf.  The winds pick up in the afternoon so play earlier,

Chalk Mountain is so-so.  Morro Bay is a good option.

Great.  Thanks guys.  You can see my HC.  I'm just good enough now that when I'm playing well a really testing course is still fun for me and I can still score pretty well.   My brothers are both worse than me.  Would Hunter Ranch be fun for players who might average mid 90s on easy, open course?  I looked at Morro Bay and Dairy Creek and they're both rated easier than Hunter.  Would one of those be more fun for the bros?

I've never played HC. I can tell you that both Morrow Bay and Dairy Creek were fun for both me and my son who is a very occasional, and not very good, golfer. Morrow Bay is very muni with awesome views. Dairy Creek was a bit more expensive, is better shape, and the place my son and his friends choose when I'm paying.
