i'm beginning to look for a new set of irons for the new year, as a reward for....i dunno but thats not what matters. im looking at the callaway X-20 Pro Series, the Titleist 755, and the R7 TP irons. i've hit the r7's and they were nice, but not really better than my rac LT's. anyways, if you guys have any input about the irons, im all ears. thanks

These are same three iron sets I narrowed my search down to (after hitting about 10 different clubs). I finally chose the X-20 tour. I can't give you anything concrete, but the 755s were what I eliminated first. I just didn't like them as much as the others. I went with the Callaway's over the R7s because I found them to be a little bit more forgiving (my handicap is fairly high, although most of my problems are off the tee). The very thin topline on the R7s was a little intimidating for me. The other factor was that I really liked the project X flighted shafts that are stock in the X-20 tour. To put them in the R7s would have been $15+ per club.

It goes with out saying...hit them all.

I haven't had any second thought and with the weather finally nice in the Northeast I'll be able to try them on the course this weekend.

I've hit all of them a lot and I personally can't advance yet to a club with that little offset. The R7 TP, just didn't like at all, the 755 was an extremely nice club and I almost wanted to buy it. Went back several times on different days in different moods just to see how I hit them and they made me feel like a superstar still...very nice club. But alas, went to the regular X20 just because of the forgiveness and I have to admit I just love the overall feel of the Callaway. The X20 Tour is also an awesome club and the Flighted Project X shaft is awesome. I could really tell the difference from hitting my regular X20 5 iron to the X20 Tour 5 iron. But again, it wasn't as forgiving as the regular X20. My brother-in-law (6hdcp) like the feel of my x20s so much he was fitted with the X20 Tours, and is really happy with them. He hits it friggin far and only went with the Flighted 5.5 because that's what felt best for him. His 5 iron distance is 210, mine is 180. Hope all that helps a little.
