A while back I read that Ben Hogan recommends swing a weighted club to help distance. Well, I went online and checked out swing trainers, only to see that they cost at least $50. So, being the creative guy I am I headed to the plumbing section in Lowes and picked up a 3/4" x 36" metal pipe. I've been swing it around ever since. Well, today I decided to step up my creative juices. Got myself a 1" x 30" pipe, a 1" coupling, a 1" - 3/8" bushing and a 3/8" x 12" pipe. Assembled, threw on a grip, and voila... $25, complete.

With the 1" pipe its a bit heavy still, I think I'm gonna get a 3/4" pipe as well so I can interchange depending on how heavy I want to go.

I used an old 6 iron I got from Goodwill ($2), 2 weighted rings (free) with a few wraps of electrical tape to keep the rings from moving around, and some sand down the shaft with an epoxied cork.
