I didn't know them either until I went to an Andy and Mike school, 3 years ago.  We're all here to learn and share information.  Some information is opinion and some is not.  It is slowly starting to change and the more notable teachers are started to modify what they say about the ball flight laws.  They have to since they have access to Trackman, Flightscope and I know one of the Harmon's has been learning from a D-Plane/Trackman expert James Leitz.

Sorry to hear about the situation with your instructor, it's crazy to think how upside down golf instruction is.  These fundamental misunderstandings are what drove Andy Plummer out of playing golf.  He was hitting pull/duck hooks and his instructor was telling him to swing MORE out to the right.  Obviously only got worse.

Thanks, we parted on good terms as he had helped me with some fundamental issues that were left over from my previous instructor.  I had known for a while he was anti S&T, but as my ball striking progressed his unwillingness to acknowledge the new ball flight laws became more of an issue.  His instruction is based on Hogans swing and his argument is if the old laws were good enough for Ben Hogan then they should be okay for me.

To WI, I find accepting the facts, ie that physics and mechanics apply in the normal way to the golf shot, has been a big help.  Not that I ever resisted, but I definitely didn't know them before joining this site.  It's good to know at the range that if you're hitting a big fade/small slice that starts at the target but bends right, that that it's because you're swing path is good but you're coming at the ball with an open face.  It's the opposite: path out to in, face generally square.  I've found that very helpful since one of my main misses is the push to push-fade.  That tells me that on that swing I've got a decent swing path, but just left the face open.  In other words, I know what to try to fix.  Using the wrong ball flight laws, you don't know what to fix when you develop a particular main type of miss.
