hi bought new soft spikes( black widow) 3 months ago and have noticed they are starting to snap off .I've had them wear down in the past but never ,never  snap off.Asked around fellow golfers and they have never had same problem either Went to place of purchase and they didn't wont to know. By the way there's very little concrete at my course. Is this a bad batch?

Which ones are they?  The Tour or the Classic?  Also, when you say "snap off", do you mean you're losing pieces of the plastic "fingers" or are you losing the whole spike (with just the stud remaining)?

I had some (Softspikes) Black Widow (non-tour) cleats do the same thing.  Some just lost their fingers, but a couple completely separated from the base.  The same thing with their  Shadow spikes (both were small thread).  I now use Champ Scorpion Stinger cleats.  I play on both soft and hardpack courses regularly, and they are quite durable.  This upcoming season will be my third year using the same set.

Small world.  I had the same experience you did with the (BW) Classics.  Missing fingers were the norm.  Luckily, when I lost a spike, I lost the whole thing, so I wasn't stuck trying to unscrew the post out of the sleeve mid-round.  However, it was bad enough that I resorted to keeping several replacements and a wrench in my bag at all times.  Also, after wearing them for a bit, I hated the way they would flatten out and stay that way on the outside of my shoes while the inside ones would "spring back" to their original shape.  I even resorted to having my feet and gait checked because of this wear pattern.  Turns out, everything was physically normal and I didn't require orthotics.  So I, too, ended up switching to Champ Stingers a little over a year ago and have had no problems whatsoever.

    • Yes, agree that there should be more TV coverage. I think the fact that they don't have the swing speed of their male counterparts makes it (slightly) more relatable, in that the rough is more of a penalty and the lack of distance means they are often pulling longer irons or lumber to get home on par fives. I think this season has been a bit tough on the LPGA to build much of a narrative with no one winning more than one tournament. And you could argue that they didn't really make hay with Nelly's run of wins, which should have been crowding out Caitlin Clark for female sports story of last year. One piece that they need to fix is the slow play - I would argue there is less player power compare to PGAT, so I don't understand why they aren't hitting the repeat offenders with stroke penalties. They have taken some strides in that respect this season, so let's hope Kessler continues the momentum.
