Has anyone out in the trap tried a regular program of the supplements G & C? Does it or has it worked for you in controlling total body and joint ache? When I start my day its nothing but pain after a few hours the joints warm up and it seems to be ok. The early morning rounds are the ones that hurt the most.

I am an ex-competitive powerlifter who spent many years squatting way too heavy.  My knees starting bothering me around age 35, and by the time I was 45, I could hardly get down stairs without going at a diagonal.  I read all the reports about how glucosamine, condroitin and MSM didn't really work, and were placebos.

Backing up a few years ago, my girlfriend had given these same supplements to our older horses and dogs.  Within a few weeks of daily doses, every animal seemed to be happier and act several years younger.  Animals don't know about the placebo effect, so I figured I would give it a try.  I studied all the reports I could find, and decided on this brand:

I originally bought one bottle, and started taking double doses every morning in my orange juice.  Within two weeks, I was so impressed that I ordered a six month supply.  I have been on it two years now, and I honestly believe my knees are continuing to improve more and more each month.  I have even been able to get back into martial arts after a twelve year hiatus.

Disclaimer:  I do not work for or even know anyone at this company, but am totally sold on their product.

just came back from skiing with the family  a couple of the family members are doctors. They implied that it works for some and not for others.  there advise was to try it for 2-3 months  if I don't feel any different stop due to the fact it is quite pricey.  I went on line to a few sites  it seems the extreme athletes are the ones promoting the beneficial effects. I will check out the site thanks for the info. Just in time for spring time course opening!

I have passed bottles on to friends and family members with joint issues.  Without exception, every person has told me they felt a significant improvement, but it was usually one to three weeks after starting to take the juice.  So there definitely seems to be some sort of cumulative effect.

I have been taking MSM for 10+ years, and since I can no longer find just MSM, I've been taking Glucosamine and MSM for the past 3 or 4 years.  My knees would kill me walking down hills and steps and I feel that MSM and the Glucosamine have made a difference.  I swear by it.

One other side note, MSM absorbs alcohol in your blood system, so take 3000-6000 mg before you go drinking and you will be surprised at the results!

I haven't done it but I have toyed with the idea of trying that regimen.  The biggest drawback for me is the potential side effect of high blood pressure.  I don't think that's anything to fool with.

Here is my experience and recommendations my doctors gave to me, but I would recommend you talk to your doctor(s). Played one sport or another my entire life so far, from football to baseball to bowling to skiing to back packing to ice skating to roller blading in my 50's, to include competitive shooting of all types and now golf in my 60's. also walked a lot and that included my work no noticible injuries till 61, thought I was a tank up to that point but a slip and fall on my driveway in the winter on some ice produced a torn menicus and the discovery of osteoarthritis. Was informed that surgery was only option but a reaction to a medication to reduce swelling delayed surgery so I opted for physical therapy till the issue cleared up. After hearing of glucosimine I spoke with the specialist and gp and both suggested 3 month trial and only gluocosmine without any additive since there would be little to no chance of any side effect issues with just the straight supplement. I have used it for approximately 15 months at this point and have a marked improvement, never did the surgery and my knee feels quite strong at his point however I cannot say any one thing worked but all gave me an additional noticiable level of recovery to this point.

I used it for about a year and a half, the Vitamin Shoppe triple strength with MSM.  I had knee surgery for a plica and torn meniscus.  My Doctor suggested trying it.  After about a month I felt the effect and it was working, but after about a year and a half it seemed to not work anymore for me.  I think it has to do with what your issue is.  My issue now is patella-femoral syndrome or chondromalacia.  This may be different than what you have.  Talk to your doctor.

I completely agree with sportsnut. I have 2 Dr's and a nurse in the family. The advise was try it for 2-3 months if no difference stop. I have been now taking for over a year and feel great. I buy generic bottles  from CVS. Expensive but goes on sale regularly 2 for 1.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
