This isn't about the magical number of 18, or even 19, but rather about a magical year in golf.

Another stat that should be talked about, but seems to be regularly overlooked:  cuts made/missed.  Tiger has missed 7 cuts as a professional in roughly 275-300 events played, including 142 in a row (Jack's longest streak was just over 100).  He only missed two cuts in his first 8 years on tour, and went more than 7 years without missing a cut.

3 of Tiger's 7 cuts missed were in majors.  Jack missed his share of cuts in majors (6 cuts missed in majors from 1959-1968), but had a 10-year stretch without missing a cut in a major (1968 PGA to 1978 PGA).
