I'm going on a golf trip in a couple weeks, and there are only 3 of us.  Anyone know any good games?

Note: I am already familiar with Wolf, 9's and BBB.  So anyone have an out-of-the-ordinary game/something different?

Thanks!

There's lots of stuff if you google "golf betting games".  I'd never heard of Wolf before.  I like it.

Another one I hadn't heard of before that sounds fun and a little different and can be played with 3 guys is called Pink Lady on this site:

Also, side note.  I grew up in Chester Springs, but didn't really get into golf until after I moved out to CA for college years ago.  Just played Kimberton once or twice in high school.  Are there fun courses out in Chester County?

One reason I won't be moving back east is I want to avoid the need for winter golf trips :-)

I used to live in Exton (parents) but I now live in Phoenixville.  There are some decent courses around here, but nothing special...at least public courses.

Of course we do have Merion, Aronimink, and Pine Valley nearby, but you need friends in high places to get on.  Although I did have the opportunity to play at Merion a couple years ago, and the US Open will be there in 2013.

BTW, thanks for the link.  While I would like to be able to play all year long, winter months provide a good excuse to take a golf trip (not that you really need one.)

Have you made the trek up to play Pebble?

Still in grad school, so can't justify the pebble price.  Though one of my buddies just moved down to San Diego so I'm hoping he can gin up a buddy with an ID pic that looks enough like me that I can play Torrey Pines for the resident rate.

I actually went to Haverford School for high school (long commute!), so I had some old money friends whose parents were Merion members, but I didn't really golf at the time.  Regret not playing there now!  Did they renovate the course?  I remember the grandpas bragging that their club used to host majors, but it was considered too short now (or then, late 90s).

When I played there (2009) the member we played with pointed out a few areas behind tee boxes that they had either recently purchased, or were in the process of convincing the land/homeowners to sell so they could extend hole lengths.  I don't know how successful they were, but everyone has a price.

Other than lengthening some of the holes, I don't believe any other changes would be necessary.  The greens are lightning fast, and the green complexes are difficult.  Between that and the rough, the course has ample defenses.  And given that there are only 2 par fives on the course, it's more of a shotmakers course than a bombers course anyway so it should allow for lots of players to contend.  Can't wait to go!

BTW, I don't know if I'd pay $500 to play PB either.  If it was a private club, and guest fees were $500, I'd probalby pay it since it would be very difficult to get an invite.  But since it's a public course and I could (in theory) play it whenever I want, I'd probably just play one of the other Monteray courses, or drive a little farther north and play Pasatiempo.
