I went an played my first round today. I shot a 78. However my ball flight was not penetrating. It all was straight however hit a peak point and would just drop with back spin. I want a lower ball flight with bak spin. Any drills or help? I had all divots in front of the ball.

To oversimplify it a bit:

Forward shaft lean at impact + shallow attack angle + crisp strike + moderate speed + tip-stiff shafts + high CG irons = penetrating flight.

Which are you missing here?  If you have a lot of speed and all of the above, you'll hit it high like Bubba Watson and Rory McIlroy.  I'm guessing that's not you because you would know you could just back off a bit and hit it lower.  Rather, like most people your problem is #1 and #2.  If you want to fix that, it takes fixing your swing.  So post a swing video.
